I have Windows XP and the start date/end date feature is not showing.  In addition, there is no way to enter start time and end time for a task, so each task entered occupies the entire day!

Hello barbarajeanne11,
In my Windows XP SP3 the start date/end date feature works properly.
I attach two screen captutes showing it.

Hey LT team, You ARE software  MAGICIANS .
I simply love LT and more so the LT Team !!!

barbarajeanne, I hope you have selected the property " Open task setting on double click " ( Settings >> Advanced >> ). If done, when you double click on a task it will bring up the task properties window (as shown by esocrates above) in which you can enter the to and from dates. Please see the pic below.

VC, I have Win7 and it happened with me once and I even complained in this forum. It was set right after I rebooted the system.

One small suggestion: the to and from dates of the task in the "entire day" area are not visible if we change the priority color of the task and therefore should be black or dark grey in color. Thanks

In 6.74, user could set "TERM" as today.  It would show in task pane.  It would show on calendar above the time grid.
Now in 6.75, if user sets TERM to today, it does show in task pane, but it shows as 0:00-23:59 in calendar.  LT forces you to use time.  So it looks like an "ALL DAY" task.  This should be fixed.
Need to be able to ASSIGN TIME or not.  So if task has term today, but no time assigned, it displays above time grid.  If I wish to schedule, then I can drag to time slot.  If I want task to appear in Today or This Week in grid, then it will.
I seems to me the time field should be separated from the TERM.  What is the intention of TERM anyway?

Q: How can I roll back to 6.7.4 until this is all sorted out?

This is how my tasks are displayed.  Some show time, some don't.  Why?

Thank you, esocrates, I was able to get the start and end times/dates to show.  There is still one issue that remains to be solved, however.  In older versions one had the choice of either 1)repeating on completion or 2)repeating with all instances of the task showing.  Both choices are necessary.  For example, one does not need to see dozens of instances of Eat Lunch one one's calendar, so, in that case, the delete and repeat upon completion option works the best.   But, if one has three appointments with one's boss on three consecutive Thursdays, one may need all three appointments to show in the calendar, so that one will not schedule a competing appointment.  I therefore request that you restore the option of having both types of repetitions available.  Thank you.

Bug in 6.75

Example: Calendar filter properties are set to "floating days 1". That means "today".

When I have tasks with start dates as well as end dates of today and activate this filter the task pane remains blank completely while the calendar pane shows all tasks for that specific today's date correctly.

For other periods like "tomorrow, next week"  e.g. everything is well. Here the bug does not occur and the task pane shows all tasks also.

Hello mkmuc,
Perhaps I do not understand well but I cannot find the problem in my system.
Please give us some screenshots and a step by step description of what you are trying to do.

Hello mkmuc,
Here is a screen I want you to see and try.
If the Start end date in not checked the task will only be shown in the body of the calendar and task panel.
If Start and End date in checked the task will be shown on the all day place too.
Regards

Hello esocrates.

Thanks for fast answering.

Yes I know. As visible on my screenshot #2 start date and end date are checked. This all works fine, except not for today period. This is the one only which shows in calendar pane only. Other periods of e.g. tomorrow, next week are displayed as well in the task pane as in the calendar pane.

Michael

On your screenshot #2 the today date is not checked. This is the reason for the problem. On the screen I attached the check is OK and everything is shown as you want to.

Ok. You'r right. The date in the first row of term settings needs a specific time assignment not to shown over the whole body of the calendar view. I thougt 6.7.5 is a mixture of versions before 6.70 and later versions and one uses date and time in first row for appointmens only with seperated start and end date for tasks over a longer time period as it in other task programms.

I don't understand the sense of the new feature but I thank you very much for your help and support. I appreciate your efforts really.

Sincerely
Michael
